Research Activities
- Cellular pharmacokinetics
of antibiotics : study of the mechanisms of penetration, accumulation, distribution,
and efflux of antibiotics in eucaryotic cells, including the study of their
transport by eucaryotic efflux pumps.
- Pharmacodynamics of antibiotics
in persistent infections: parameters modulating antibiotic activity against
intracellular infections or biofilms; elaboration of strategies to modulate
intracellular activity (inhibition of efflux pumps, e.g.)
- Cellular toxicodynamics
of antibiotics: morphological and biochemical studies of storage disorders
induced by antibiotics will cellular tropism
- Search and pharmacological
evaluation of new antibiotics directed against new targets, either by screening
of well characterized natural sources or by rational design and chemical synthesis.
