Francine Andries-Renoird

Francine graduated in clinical laboratory in 1969 at the Institute
for Laboratory Assistants and Dietetitians in Louvain, Belgium (this Institute
has now moved to Brussels and has taken the name of Institut
Paul Lambin), Brussels. She joined the group of Cellular and Molecular
Pharmacology in 1970 where she is now 1st Head Technician. Her main activities
are :

Training of new students (learning of basic techniques)
-
Biochemistry : chromathography (TLC and HPLC) and enzymatic assays
-
Electron microscopy : preparations of samples and ultramicrotomy
-
immuno-histochemical and histological techniques (optic an electron microscopy)
-
Collection, handling and assay of samples for clinical studies
-
Management of data bases for clinicals studies
-
Ordering, invoicing and handling of the laboratory accounts
-
Help for writing official reports in Dutch
Marie-Claire Cambier (Région
Wallonne; BIOVAL research programme)
Marie-Claire graduated in clinical laboratory in 1975 at the Paul
Lambin Institute in Brussels, Belgium (Institut
Paul Lambin). She joined the group of Cellular and Molecular
Pharmacology in 1975 where she is now 1st Technician. Her main activities
are :
-
Cell culture techniques (infected and uninfected eucaryotic cells, including
work in L2/P2 facilities)
-
Microbiological techniques (bacteria)
-
Scientific photography (electron microscopy, etc...)
-
Training of new students (learning of basic techniques)
-
Maintenance and management of the Animal Room (including relationships
with the Ministry of Agriculture for inspection purposes)
-
Collection and handling of samples for clinical studies
-
Maintenance and management of the laboratory computer network (15 machines)
-
Help for the organization of seminars and post-graduated courses
-
Help for the organization and management of the student examinations (pharmacy;
approx. 260 students/year)
Nancy Aguilera (Fonds de la recherche
scientifique médicale [FRSM]
Nancy graduated in chemical clinical laboratory in 1999 at the
Institut Supérieur Catholique at Fleurus, Belgium (presently
Haute
Ecole catholique Charleroi Europe). She joined the group of Cellular
and Molecular Pharmacology in 2000 where she is now Junior Technician.
Her main activities are:

Biophysical studies (liposome technology, fluorescence spectroscopy, ...)

Microbiological assays
-
Cell culture studies (accumulation, distribution of drugs)

Molecular Biology techniques
-
Training of new students (learning of basic techniques)
Olga Meert (half time; Université
catholique de Louvain [UCL; Budget ordinaire)
Olga joined the group of Cellular and Molecular Pharmacology in 1990
where she is now Technician. Her main activities are:
-
general maintenance of the laboratory, including the cleansing of glassware
and handling of pathological specimens
-
retrieval of scientific papers, photocopying and scientific clerical activities
Marc Lhoas (half time; Université
catholique de Louvain [UCL; Budget ordinaire)
Marc followed a training in Litterature and in Information/Documentation
Sciences at the University of Pretoria,
Pretoria, South Africa between 1986 and 1992. He joined the group
of Cellular and Molecular Pharmacology in 2000 where he is now Junior Secretary
(correspondant). His main activities are:
-
typing, mailing and archiving mail, scientific papers, and scientific and
legal reports;
-
archiving the scientific and legal dossiers of the various Belgian Drug
Commissions and Scientific Comittees to which members of the Unit participate;

help in the organization of seminars and other scientific activities;
